Birds are one of the most popular pets, especially for those owners who love to wake up daily with the beautiful song of a bird, without a doubt; little by little they have become the most common pets for company in many homes. All birds are usually quite cheerful animals that are capable of filling every corner of the home with all that joy. But, how to make your bird sing more? There are tricks.

There are many advantages that can be obtained by having a pet bird, one of these is that they do not require much space, which means that you can leave it inside a cage that is not very large, and so they are the ideal pets for homes or small rooms.

These animals are not only usually showy due to their colorful plumage; they are also capable of entertaining the whole family through their beautiful song, either for a few minutes or for a long time.

If this is the first time you have a pet bird and you don’t know how to make it sing, you don’t have to worry, since at first you just have to do everything you can to keep the bird happy and above all comfortable. For this you must take into consideration several things such as, for example, that your cage is conditioned according to the needs of the bird and that it is also located in a place where it can receive a little sun and some fresh air and a good diet.

You should know that each of the aspects you should consider is directly related to the bird’s mood. However, health as well as its emotional state is factors that play a very important role when it comes to getting your bird to sing a little more.

What do you need to make your bird sing more?

If you want your bird to sing every day, you need to carefully follow a series of instructions that we show later, in addition, you will need some elements that will facilitate the task, making it even easier, these are:

  • First of all you will need one or more birds; this depends on the taste of the person and of course the space available.
  •  Special food for birds.
  • A conditioned cage.
  • Preferably fresh water, so it is recommended to change it daily.
  • As an additional option you can play songs from other birds, either through a CD or a digital player.

Instructions to make your bird sing more

  1. Food
So that your bird can sing with all the joy that characterizes it, you must pay close attention to the diet that you offer your pet with which you can guarantee excellent health. The most advisable thing is to give him quality food, so a good option is to buy a special feed for birds, you can buy this at any bird store, and you can also complement his diet if you add various seeds. Similarly, you can feed him some fresh fruit and vegetables at least twice a week, always making sure that all the food you feed your bird contains the necessary vitamins to keep your bird well fed.
  2. Hydration
Good hydration is also essential for your bird to feel happy and so it can sing throughout the day, so you need to offer fresh water in a container where it cannot easily spill. In addition, you must change the water daily without exception, since birds, like all pets, need fresh water to hydrate properly and above all, to avoid the appearance of certain diseases.
  3. Set up his cage
there is no better way to get your bird to sing happily every day than to set up its cage properly, so it’s arguably one of the most important steps. Birds need space so they can fly or at least feel comfortable, therefore, it is recommended that the cage you choose is not too small, regardless of the fact that the bird measures just a few centimeters, with this your bird will be able to move more freely. Now, cleaning should also be done daily, in this way you will ensure that it is kept in perfect condition for your pet. Place the cage in a place that is quiet; avoid places where strong currents of air could enter, as they can be dangerous for many birds. The temperature inside the cage must also be optimal; it is for this reason, which should be located in a place where temperature changes do not occur abruptly. If you have two or more birds, you must keep in mind that the size of the cage as well as the place where you are going to place it must be larger.
  4. Make sure it rests well
Rest is essential for any living being, so birds are no exception, especially when you try to make it sing a little more. For this reason, tranquility plays an important role, since birds do not like too loud noises, especially when they sleep, which is usually for about 12 hours. If you place the cage in a place in the house where there is a lot of noise, the bird will not be able to rest well and as a consequence its health and mood will be affected. Stress is not at all convenient when you want your bird to sing happily, so you should avoid making noise while your bird sleeps.
  5. Songs of other birds
When the birds are young, it may be that at first they can sing like the birds that you can hear through the window, if this is your case, the best option is to buy a CD that has recorded songs of other birds. Birds, especially those of its kind, in this way your bird can become familiar with these sounds and thus begin to imitate them. It can be said that it is a phonetic training that will allow you to sing quickly and as time goes by you will be able to do it without having to hear other songs.
  6. Sing with your bird
In addition to placing other bird sounds; you can also help your bird by whistling those sounds. The best stimulus for your bird to sing is to hear other birds sing. That will be your main motivation and those birds will be your singing teachers.
  7. Give a treat
although optional, giving your bird a treat each time it sings can encourage your pet to sing daily. Some birds can associate the prize with singing, so in a short time they will learn that if they sing to their owner, he will give them a prize that can be the bird’s favorite food or some special treat that you can find in the bird store.

Tips to make your bird sing more

  • Birds are happier when they are in the company of other birds, so a good option is to bring a partner for your bird, a partner would make him very happy, and so his song will be heard every day.
  • Buy food that is always of the best quality; remember that if your bird is well fed, it will sing without problems.
  • Depending on the bird you can equip the cage with various accessories with which your bird can feel more comfortable.
